Step 9: Install Strap Pins, Covers & Caps
The two strap pins are attached centrally on the lower side of the body and on the side of the upper body horn
by pre-drilling with a 2 mm drill bit in the desired position and attaching a strap pin (
18
) and a felt washer (
18A
)
with the enclosed screws (
20
).
Then all the covers (
7
,
8
and
9
) can be fitted. For this purpose, use the enclosed screws (
21
) by placing the covers
in the suitable position, marking the drill holes and pre-drilling them with a 1.5 mm drill bit. The potentiometer
caps for the volume and tone controls (
10C
&
11C
) are simply pushed onto the axle. If they are too loose on the
axle or do not fit on the axle, you can carefully bend the split axle shaft as needed using a screwdriver.
The pick-guard (
6
) has an additional mounting bracket (
14
), which is fixed to the centre of the pick-guard with an M3
threaded bolt (
14A
) with matching nut (
14B
) and mounted in the body with another bolt (
21
). Another mounting screw
(
21
) is needed at the top of the pick-guard.
Step 10: Stringing & Setup
The main part of the assembly is now almost done. To make the instrument ready to play, place the TOM-bridge (
16
)
and the stop-bar tailpiece (
17
) on the bolts provided, thread the strings (
24
) through the respective hole in the stop-
bar, over the bridge to the appropriate tuner and tune the string to its respective pitch.
Make sure that each string lies both on the appropriate string saddle of the bridge and in the correct
notch of the nut.
