Update via FOTA client (continued)
Once the update file has been downloaded, a
pop-up informs that there will be a restart, and
also recommends backing up data (the update
will not delete data).
If ready to proceed with the update, tap
CONTINUE. The update will then be installed
onto the XT2. When finished, the FOTA Client will
display the newly installed version, and report
whether this is now the latest version, or
whether there are additional versions to
download until the OS image on your device is
completely up-to-date.
Advanced FOTA Client
Note that there is also an Advanced FOTA Client
accessible only through
Settings
>
Developer
options
. Developer options is not normally
visible on your XT2. To make it visible, go to
Settings
>
About phone
and tap
Build
number
7 times. After doing this, the Developer
option menu is activated in Settings (and stays
activated).
Tapping on
FOTAClient
in
Developer options
will bring up a list of available OS image files on
the server. If for some reason you wish to install
a different version, download the appropriate file
and install it.
