6.12. Sensor Gate Control
This mode is for applications with strobe flash illuminations or long time accumulations up to
several frames. In this mode the camera is running continuously with shutter off.
The internal Sensor Gate SG in line #14 after the falling VD edge stops the accumulation in the
photo diode array, and transfer the accumulated charge the vertical ccd register for readout.
If this internal SG is disabled, the accumulation will continue during the next frame. The
resulting video will be read out as a full frame after the first valid internal SG pulse.
To inhibit the internal SG pulse and continue the accumulation, the external sensor gate control
signal should be low during line # 14 (after the falling VD edge). The sensor gate control signal
can be synchronized by the VD signal.
For video out timing details, refer to fig. 15. - 16.
To use this mode:
Set function:
Trigger mode to “Normal”.
TR=0
Sensor Gate select to “sensor gate”
SG=1
Scanning
SC=0
Shutter
SH=0
Other functions and settings
Input:
Ext. SG controll to pin 5 on 6 pin connector (or pin 11 on 12-pin
connector).
Ext. HD in on pin 6 on 12-pin connector.
(If used).
Ext. VD in on pin 7 on 12-pin connector.
(If used).
Important notes on using this mode
•
External sync system should follow the camera scanning system.
