Remember that it is compulsory to install a multiple-pole section
switch with characteristics that are no less than the ones given in the
“Electrical Safety” chapter and
4-5 , taking into account the maxi-
mum absorption of the system.
The installer must comply with the above regulations, and also use
watertight connectors at connection points. He must also guar-
antee compliance with the specific current standards for sys-
tems in the country in which the spa is installed.
Compliance with this regulation is obligatory: any other procedure is
prohibited.
Spa-Pak and compensation tank
(the following considerations are also valid for the spa-pak
“booster kit”; refer to the relative documentation).
The Spa-Pak must be installed in a ventilated indoor area, which is
only accessible to those with a key or tools, and it must be protected
from water and bad weather.
N.B. Since certain settings and general maintenance operations
require access to devices present on the Spa-Pak (heating temper-
ature setting, filter backwash, emptying the system, etc.), it is advis-
able to ensure easy access to the systems control.
The compensation tank (to be installed as close as possible to the
Minipool and the lowered platform,
2-2a-3-3a ) must be closed
so that the electrical devices on it are not accessible to the user with-
out a key or tools.
Ways of limiting access (for both the Spa-Pak and the compensation tank)
to unauthorized persons must take into account electrical protection (direct
and indirect contact) and the characteristics of the materials used; in par-
ticular, any filler panels or structural parts, if made of conductive material,
must guarantee connection to the protection circuit (earth) and any sup-
plementary equipotential connection, if required by the type of installation.
When plastic materials, wood, etc. are used, make sure that they are
approved for use with electrical installations, and approved for self-
extinguishing properties.
Preparations for installation
Prolonged sun exposure could damage the material of
which is made the spa shell, due to its capacity to absorb heat
(dark colours in particular). Don't leave the spa to sun ex-
posure without adequate protection when not in use (cov-
er thermal, gazebo, etc.). Any damage arising by not fol-
lowing these warnings are not covered by the guarantee.
For indoor installation, it is necessary to remember
that water evaporation from the spa (especially where
high temperatures are involved) can cause very high lev-
els of humidity. Natural or forced ventilation helps to
maintain personal comfort and reduce damage to the
building. Jacuzzi Europe refuses all responsibility for any
damage caused by excessive humidity. Consult a spe-
cialist for indoor installation
Minipool
The spas of the “Experience” range can also be installed with the
tub edge flush with the floor. Refer to the drilling template shown
in
6 .
In any case, keep in mind that the spa-pak and the compensation
tank must be placed at a lower level (
7 ). In the case of a lowered
retainer tub, they can remain on the same level as the minipool.
N.B. Since the sizes may vary slightly, always check the measure-
ments before installing the minipool.
Make sure that the hosing under the tub is accessible, for example,
by preparing a passage (
6, detail 2 ) around the outer perimeter
that is sufficiently wide (about 80 cm) to make operations easy. This
passage can be closed using removable under-frames (detail 3) ,
with suitable supports (detail 4) . Drainage for any water stagnation
must also be provided (detail 5) .
If it is to be floor-installed, it will be necessary to fill in the outer perimeter
of the tub, using removable panels all along the perimeter.
In any case, you will require a support base below the tub bottom ( in
concrete, steel beams, 6, detail 1 ), while you can use the metal
supports provided to support the tub edge, positioned as shown in
detail 6. The realization of the support base must take into account
the position of the support feet ( 1 ) and the load of the spa, tak-
ing into account the table "Weights" shown above.
Study the routes and dig any necessary holes and channels for the
water and electric connections for the spa and the Spa-Pak, with the
compensation tank and the ground drainage points, taking into
account that:
- the plumbing pipes are those shown in 2-2a-3-3a which must
be placed so as to avoid siphons. This does not apply to the blow-
er, which does require a blower (
2-2a-3-3a e 7, detail B ).
- 5 pneumatic push buttons are provided ( 2-2a-3-3a, detail
2 ). They should be installed near the spa and placed in an appro-
priate box (provided with the spa-pak; in can be wall-mounted or
installed under the tub
2-2a-3-3a, detail 2a ) using the plas-
tic tubes (ø 6 mm) which are also provided. This box must then
be connected to the electrical box on the spa-pak by means of a
multi-polar normalized cable
6x0.75 mm 2 .
- the spotlight box of the spa (located under the tub) must be con-
nected to the electrical box on the spa-pak by means of a nor-
malized bi-polar cable
2x1.5 mm 2 .
- A cable track must also be provided for electrical connections from the
compensation tank to the electric wiring box on the Spa-Pak (8 stan-
dard leads, with a minimum section of
1.5 mm 2 ).
- Spa-pak “booster kit”: in the instance where a spa-pak
“booster kit” is also installed, a separate supply line must be
provided and it must be connected to the main spa-pak; refer
to the relative documentation.
Spa-pak / Spa pak “booster kit”
The Spa-Pak can be installed near the tub and, in any case, at a dis-
tance
NOT EXCEEDING 6 METRES , 7, detail 1 : this is
because the shorter the hoses are, the smaller the loss of load will
be. We recommend that you avoid bends, as far as possible, (we sug-
gest you use flexible
PVC hoses).
