CLEAN FUEL FILTER ELEMENT AND
GLASS BOWL

(a)
Close the fuel tap (C) (handle horizontal).
(b)
Unscrew the retaining ring (D) and remove
the glass bowl (B).
(c)
Clean out the filter bowl thoroughly to
remove all sediment and water.
(d)
Replace bowl and secure with retaining ring.
Open fuel tap and check for leaks.
SPARK PLUG
(FIG. 31)
Remove spark plug and check condition. Good
operating conditions are indicated if the plug has a
light coating of grey or tan deposit. A white
blistered coating could indicate overheating. A
black (carbon) coating may indicate an over rich
fuel mixture or incorrect carburettor adjustment.
Do not sand blast, wire brush or otherwise service
a plug in poor condition. Best results are obtained
with a new plug. The plug gap should be set at
0.95mm (0.037in). Adjust the gap if necessary.
