THIS RADIATOR CONTAINS
ANTI-FREEZE
PROTECTED TO -26 F (-32 C)
Mix equal parts of clean water and a premium
quality ethylene glycol based anti-freeze to
maintain the boil over, rust and corrosion
protection.
Drain and discard coolant yearly. Read manual
for additional instructions.
Radiator is under pressure. Remove
cap slowly to avoid personal injury

WARNING
To prevent burns, do not touch
muffler or muffler shield.
Temperatures may exceed 150¡F (66¡C)

To prevent serious injury
never disconnect or tamper
with the seat switch.

Filter is under pressure. Remove
filter slowly to avoid bodily injury

Fill oil tank to 2 inches below filler neck

IMPORTANT
Tow valve to be used in case of
emergency only. Excess towing
may damage hydraulic system.
Before towing vehicle, turn
valve 90 to de-clutch. Do not turn
valve while machine is in motion.

USE OF STARTING ASSIST FLUIDS IN THE
AIR INTAKE SYSTEM MAY BE POTENTIALLY
EXPLOSIVE OR CAUSE A "RUNAWAY"
ENGINE CONDITION. THIS COULD RESULT
IN SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGE.

ADVERTENCIA
To avoid injury when working with battery
1. Always connect the black ground (–)
cable last and remove it first.
2. Keep sparks and flames away, and
avoid contatc with acid.
To avoid injury when jumping battery
1. Connect positive (+) terminal to
positive (+) terminal.
2. Connect negative (–) terminal on good
battery to frame of vehicle that
has dead battery.

Maintain fluid level in radiator recovery tank between
"Full" and "Low" mark when engine is cold.
Clear the radiator core & radiator screen of any dirt
or grass clippings.
Check the engine oil each time you stop for fuel.
Empty air cleaner dust cap daily.
Read operators manual for more detailed service
instructions.

TO START

1. Set Parking Brake.
2. Set Speed Control
treadle in neutral.
3. Place implement switch
in off position.
4. Set throttle at half
position.
5. For cold starting,
hold glow switch
for seven seconds,
release switch.
6. Turn ignition switch
to start position.
1. Place implement switch
in off position.
2. Raise cutting units
and engage transport
latches.
3. Release parking brake
4. Set throttle to
fast position.
5. Depress treadle
pedal for desired
ground speed.
1. Lower cutting units
to ground.
2. Set rocker switch
in cut position for
mowing (and reverse
position for
clearing
obstructions from
reels, ST-5111 only).
3. Place implement switch
in on position.
4. Release parking
brake.
5. Set throttle to fast
position.
6. Depress treadle
pedal for desired
ground speed
1. Set treadle pedal
in neutral position.
2. Place implement switch
in off position.
3. Set parking brake.
4. Set throttle to
slow position.
5. Turn ignition to
off position and
remove key.
TO BACKLAP (ST-5111 ONLY)
PARKING BRAKE
1. Engage parking
brake.
2. Start engine and
set throttle to
minimum idle speed.
3. Engage implement
switch for
backlapping.
4. Set desired rocker
switch to reverse,
set other switch
in center (OFF)
position.
5. With extreme caution,
apply lapping
compound with long
handled brush.

1. Do not operate tractor with horn sounding. Horn will sound to warn of overheated engine or hydraulic system.
See instructions in operators manual to properly clean the radiator or oil cooler and check fluid levels.
2. When implement becomes clogged, disengage power and stop engine before cleaning.
3. Keep hands, feet and clothing away from power driven moving parts.
4. Do not ride on machine or allow passengers unless seat is provided.
5. Keep all shields in place.
6. Stop engine for all servicing, adjustments, or fluid level changes.
7. Read manual thoroughly before operating machine.
8. Do not shift between 2WD / 4WD while tractor is moving
