3.15 REEL PROXIMITY SWITCH __________________________________________________
1.
The switch is factory set and should not require
adjustment. The reels start turning when lowered and
shut off when raised.
2.
If reels do not shut off when raised, or turn on too
slowly, loosen hardware (D) and adjust switch up or
down as required.
3.
Check to see if gap of 3/32 to 1/8 in (2 to 3 mm) is
maintained between sensing surface and cam.

3.16 INSTALLING CUTTING UNITS________________________________________________
1.
Park the tractor on a flat and level surface, fully lower
the lift arms, engage parking brake, stop the engine
and remove the key from the ignition switch.
2.
Place each cutting unit in front of its respective lift
arm (L).
The grass catcher mounting hooks must face
outwards on the two front mowers. The center mower
has a longer hook.
a.
Manually raise lift arm (L), and slide the cutting
unit so that yoke (M) is in line with swivel housing
(N).
b.
Carefully lower swivel housing (N) onto yoke (M).
c.
Insert spring (O) and pin (E), fasten retaining
wire and snap plastic cap (F) over pin (E).
3.
Move the motors and their hoses to the cutting
units.
4.
Remove protective plug (G) from bearing housing.
Retain plug for future use. Coat spines of reel shaft
with a good quality non-metallic, fibre based grease
and assemble coupler (H) to the reel shaft.
5.
Apply a light coat of grease to motor O-ring and
inside lip of bearing housing. Slide Motor end into
bearing housing.
6.
If any resistance is felt, the reel may need to be
turned to engage the motor spline. Slowly turn the
reel, while applying pressure to the end of the
motor, until the motor slides into place. Make certain
the motor is fully seated against the bearing
housing.
7.
Secure the motor to the housing with two motor
clips (I and J) as shown. Squeeze the two ears of
the clip to freely slide into the slot of mounting pin
(K). Insert clip up to the first bend. The two ear
loops should face towards the center of the motor.
8.
For removal of the cutting units, follow the assembly
procedure in reverse order.
