ENGINE ALTERNATOR BELT ________________________________________________
Inspect and adjust new belt after first ten hours of operation.
Adjust every 100 hours thereafter.
Adjust alternator pulley so belt deflects 1/4” to 5/16” (6 -8
mm) with a 20 lb. push at midpoint between pulleys. See
engine manual.
If tension is incorrect, loosen alternator mounting bolts (E)
and adjust alternator until proper belt tension is achieved.

REEL DRIVE BELT _________________________________________________________
The reel drive belts must be readjusted whenever the reel
motor is removed.
1.
Remove belt cover and make sure the drive belt is
properly positioned over the drive motor and reel
pulley.
2.
Loosen hardware (F) then gently pry motor
upwards. At the same time use your belt tensioning
gauge, mid way between the pulleys, to deflect the
belt until it just touches the belt housing.
a.
Place tip of the leaf spring on the gauge flat against
the belt and apply force on the motor until the leaf
spring just touches the neck of the gauge.
b.
When the leaf spring touches the gauge, the belt is
properly tensioned. Tighten hardware (F).

CAUTION:
The drive belt is a Kevlar® rein-
forced belt. To prevent permanent belt damage,
do not overtighten, twist, fold or bend the belt.
Twisting or bending the belt will permanently
damage the chord fibers of the belt.
