Internal Connectors 

 

IDE1, IDE2: IDE Drive Connectors 

 

The two IDE drive connectors are marked IDE1, the primary channel, and IDE2, the secondary 

channel. Each connector supports two drives, a Master and a Slave. 

 

 

Pin 20 on each IDE connector is removed to match the covered hole on the UltraDMA 

cable connector. This prevents incorrect orientation when you connect the cables. For 

UltraDMA100/66 IDE devices, use an 80-conductor IDE cable. 

 

The red stripe of the ribbon cable must be the same side with the Pin1.
