Precautions

•  Turn off the radio before charging.

•  Crank the handle smoothly with an even motion. Cranking too slowly will increase the time it takes to charge the unit. Cranking too quickly can

damage the power generator.

•  Take care not to injure fingers and fingernails when cranking.

•  To increase the life of the battery, do not crank continuously for more than 3 minutes when the radio is working normally (charged) and no more

than 10 minutes when there is no charge.

•  Do not submerge the unit in water or other liquids.

•  Do not place the unit in areas subject to high heat and humidity.

•  When charging via the USB port make sure to use only standard 5V USB devices.

Operation

Charging the Battery Using the Hand Crank

Unlock the handle and crank clockwise at about 3 revolutions per second for at least 1 minute. Crank the handle at least 1 minute once a month
to prolong the life of the battery.

Charging the Battery Using the Solar Panel

Place the radio in direct sunlight with the solar panel facing directly into the sunlight. The blue charging light will glow when the unit is charging.

Charging the Battery via USB

Use the included USB charging cable to connect to your computer, a car or home adapter, or to an external solar-powered energy source.

Using the Radio

Select AM or FM with the selector switch located on the upper left front of the radio.

Turn on the radio with the bottom knob located on the right side of the unit. This on/off knob also controls the volume.

Select stations by turning the upper knob. Fully extend the antenna for best reception.
