If you’ve tried to resolve the problem and your application still doesn’t respond, you may need to restart
your computer as described below.
To reboot your computer, select Start, Shut Down, Restart. If that does not work, try pressing
CTRL
+
ALT
+
DEL
twice.
If the computer does not restart, the
keyboard
may be locked up. Perform a hardware reset by holding
down the
Power Button
for at least five seconds and then release the button.
CAUTION
This will result in a loss of all unsaved data.
The data on the
hard disk
could be corrupted. Run SCANDISK.
Windows is out of memory/resources. Exit Windows and restart Windows.
Communications programs such as HyperTerminal don’t seem to work or they lock Windows
When you first try to use HyperTerminal or similar application, the system responds with a message asking
if you want to install the modem. Answer “Yes” to this question and follow the instructions on the screen
to install it.

Batteries
The battery does not charge
To prevent possible damage to the battery, the system will not allow a charge if the battery temperature is
extremely hot or cold (such as in a closed, unattended vehicle). If possible, charge the battery in a location
with a moderate temperature of around 20°C (68°F).
If possible, turn off the computer while the battery is charging.
If the battery is new or has been stored for a week or more, follow this procedure:
1. Make sure the computer is turned off.
2. Open the battery door and remove the battery.
