GENERAL OPERATION
1. Select the source by setting the
FUNCTION SELECTOR
to
CD/MP3/USB, TAPE, OFF
or
RADIO
.
2. Set the desired volume level using the
VOLUME KNOB
.
3. To turn off the unit, set the
FUNCTION SELECTOR
to
OFF
.
RADIO
• To listen to the FM radio, extend the telescopic antenna and orient it for optimum reception.
Reduce the length of the antenna if the signal is too strong (if you are very near the transmitter, for
example).
• As the unit is equipped with a built-in antenna, the telescopic antenna does not have to be used to
listen to AM stations. Move the entire unit to orient the built-in antenna.
RADIO RECEPTION
1. Set the
FUNCTION SELECTOR
on
RADIO
.
2. Position the
BAND SELECTOR
on the desired band: AM, FM or FM ST.
3. Turn the
TUNING KNOB
to search for the desired station.
NOTE: The FM stereo indicator comes on if the
BAND SELECTOR
is set on FM stereo and you have
tuned the radio to an FM stereo station.
4.When you have finished listening to the radio, position the
FUNCTION SELECTOR
to
OFF
to turn
the unit off.
PLAYING A CASSETTE
1. Set the
FUNCTION SELECTOR
on
TAPE
.
2. Press
STOP/EJECT
to open the cassette door.
3. Insert a recorded cassette and close the cassette door.
4. Press
PLAY
to start playback.
5. To interrupt playback, press
PAUSE
. To resume, press the key again.
6. By pressing the
FWD
or
REW
button, fast winding of the tape is possible in both directions.
7. To stop the tape, press
STOP/EJECT
button.
STEREO HEADPHONE JACK
Plug stereo headphones (not included), equipped with a 3.5mm mini-plug, into the
PHONES
jack
(on top of the unit, left-hand side) for private listening, without disturbing those around you.
Reduce the
VOLUME
to a low level before putting on the headphones. You can then adjust the
VOLUME
progressively to a comfortable level.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON RECORDING
• Recording is permissible in so far as copyright of other
rights of third parties are infringed.
• This deck is not suitable for recording on CHROME (IEC II)
or METAL (IEC IV) type cassettes. For recording, use
NORMAL type cassettes (IEC I) on which the tabs have not
been broken.
• The best recording level is set automatically. Altering the
VOLUME control will not affect the recording in progress.
• At the very beginning and end of the tape, no recording will
take place during 7 seconds, when the leader tape passes
the recorder heads.
• To protect a tape from accidental erasure, have the tape in
front of you and break out the left tab.
Recording on this side is no longer possible. To record over
this side again, cover the tabs with a piece of adhesive tape.
RECORDING
RECORDING FROM RADIO
1. Tune to the desired radio station.
2. Press
STOP/EJECT
to open the cassette
door.
3. Insert a suitable cassette into the cassette
deck and close the cassette door.
4. Press
RECORD
to start recording.
5. For brief interruptions, press
PAUSE
. To
resume recording, press
PAUSE
again.
6. To stop recording, press
STOP/PAUSE
.
RECORDING FROM THE CD
1. Slide the FUNCTION selector to CD.
2. Insert the CD you want to record.
3. Insert a suitable cassette into the cassette
deck and close the cassette door.
4. Press
RECORD
to start recording. The
PLAY
and
RECORD
buttons are depressed together.
5. Press CD
PLAY/PAUSE
button. The recording
level is set automatically.

MAINTENANCE
Tape deck maintenance.
To ensure quality recording and playback of the
tape deck,
clean part A, B and C shown in the diagram
below after approx. 50 hours of operation, or on
average once a month. Use a cotton bud slightly
moistened with alcohol or a special head
cleaning fluid to clean the deck.

and clean the magnetic heads
A and also the Capstan B.

Note:
Cleaning of the heads can also be done
by playing a cleaning cassette through once.
