When to Clean or Replace the Lamp
The TIGER XTL MiniPID uses an ultraviolet light source ionising VOC gases as they pass across the
Lamp window. This process may result in a fine layer of contamination on the detector window that
must be removed on a regular basis.
•
In normal use the Lamp should be cleaned after every 100 hours (based on 30 ppm for 100
hours). If the Tiger XTL is used in heavily gas contaminated environments, the Lamp should
be cleaned more often.
•
Please note that some esters, amines and halogenated compounds may accelerate window
fouling; in these cases cleaning may be required after every 20 hours of use.
•
Cleaning frequency will also depend upon alarm levels set and prevailing environmental
conditions.
•
Damaged Lamps must be replaced immediately. Do not use a Tiger XTL with a damaged
Lamp.
When to Replace the Electrode Stack
When using your Tiger XTL in conditions of high ambient humidity, it may show unexpected and
increasing readings. This is due to dust or other small particles within the detector becoming
hydrated which causes these particles to conduct a signal between the electrodes.
The problem can be resolved by replacing the Electrode Stack.
