Rear wheels

You can adjust the height of the seat by changing the position of
the rear wheel attachment. The balance of the wheelchair can be
adjusted by moving the rear wheel attachment forward or backward.
When the attachment is moved forward, the chair will be somewhat
easier to propel, but the risk of tipping will increase. If you move the
attachment towards the rear, however, the chair will be more stable
but slightly harder to propel. Test the different settings to see what
suits you best.

WARNING!
Risk of tipping

The risk of tipping increases when the rear wheels are
moved forward.

Always use anti-tip devices.

WARNING!
Safety risk

When you have fitted the wheels in the correct

position, it is important that you check thoroughly that
the nuts and screws are tightened securely. This is
important for your own safety!

CAUTION!
Risk of tipping

When accessories are mounted on the back of the
wheelchair the tip risk increases.

When accessories are mounted on the back of the

wheelchair, the rear position should be used.

A

B

Position

A

is the standard position for 20–24” rear wheels. Position

B

is the standard position for 16” rear wheels.

For more information about the adjustment possibilities of
the rear wheel attachment, please see the service manual.
The service manual can be found on Invacares home page
www.invacare.com.

Adjusting the seat height and balance

point with the rearwheel attachment

For Dahlia, we have two different sizes of rearwheel attachment:

High

Low

The position of the rearwheel attachment can be adjusted, turned and
changed in order to change the balance point and the seat height of
the chair. The following sections will show and explain the different
options of rearwheel position.
