Belt Splicing System v.2.0
4-1
Cut Hazard
Wear safety glasses and use caution
when preparing belt ends.
Belt End Situations
NOTE
The minimum sag requirement must be met to run
the belt without tension. Review the
ThermoDrive® Belting Conveyor Belting
Installation and Maintenance
or contact Intralox
to determine correct belt length
BEFORE cutting any belt.
New Prepared-end Belt:
New belts should
arrive with two (2) prepared ends. If the belt is
too long, cut away any excess belting and pre-
pare belt ends using instructions here.
New Endless Belt:
New endless belts arrive in a
pre-spliced loop. If ordered correctly, you do
not need to shorten a new belt. If the endless
belt is too long, cut away the excess belting and
prepare belt ends using instructions here.
Existing Belt:
Cut away the damaged or excess
belting, then prepare belt ends using instruc-
tions here.
NOTE
Contact Intralox to order replacement belt sections
for splicing as needed.
Preparation Overview
Once a length of belt is confirmed to run with-
out tension (meets the sag requirement), pre-
pare belt ends for splicing.
Proper preparation is critical for correct drive
bar pitch and contamination-free splicing.
FABRICATION TIP
Instructions for preparing belt ends can differ
by belt series, style, and troughing groove type.
These instructions provide the most
common cutting procedures. For S8126 belt,
