EVAC Hood (
yellow fluorescent)
1 INTRODUCTION
Follow the instructions in this manual carefully.
This manual must be read and understood prior to using the hood.
MAINTENANCE
Yearly visual inspection to be carried out on hood, hose and connections. Any repair
must only be done by trained people using only the original spare parts from the
manufacturer.
WARRANTY
Damage caused by improper use is not covered by the warranty.
LIFE SPAN
The EVAC hood has a life span of ten (10) years. After ten (10) years the EVAC hood
shall be disposed of.
2 USAGE
HOW TO USE THE HOOD
- Open the bag, take the hood out and tear up the packing at the red arrow.
- Unfold the hood.
- Slip on the hood by keeping the hood neck open with the back of your hands.
This will make the donning easy, especially for eyeglass wearers.
- Connect the hose to the Extra air connection on the SCBA.
- EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY, AVOIDING PANIC.
3 AFTER USE
Check that there has been no mechanical or chemical damage to the hose and hood.
Check the necksealing on the hood to make sure it has not occured any holes in it.
Damaged parts must be replaced.
The hood must be cleaned after every use.
Clean with a soft cloth or sponge and lukewarm soapy water (maximum temperature
40°C).
Do not use organic solvents such as acetone, alcohol, benzene,
turpentine, petrol (gasoline), trichloroethylene or similar.
4 STORAGE
Store the hood in a dry, temperate and dust free environment.
PROTECT AGAINST HEAT AND SUNLIGHT.
