4. OPERATION
Venetian blinds are installed in the soffit. The light situation by incident sunlight can be
influenced by lifting (up) or lowering (down) of the blind as well as by adjusting the slats when
the blinds are down. Operation occurs manually via crank operation or electrically via motor
operation.
4.1 OPERATION BY HAND
Crank (hand crank)
The blind is operated via an aluminium crank, which is connected via a hinge bearing to the
bevel gears.
To lower the blind, turn the crank anticlockwise. To lift it, turn it clockwise. To turn the slats,
either turn counterclockwise or clockwise, the slats will open or close. After use, press the
crank rod into the crank holder.
ATTENTION PRODUCT DAMAGE
When operating the crank drive, only bend the crank into the supposed direction.
Never try to forcefully move the Venetian blinds. When reaching the end point
(resistance), you must not carry on turning the crank. Otherwise you could damage
the Venetian blind.
4.2 OPERATION WITH ELECTRIC MOTOR
When working on the system (maintenance, cleaning) always disconnect it from
the power supply by either taking out the fuse or switching the electricity off.
Work on electric systems and connections on a 230V power supply may only be
carried out by trained electro personnel.
Keep children away from controls and remote controls.
Do not reach into the blind or the inside of the box while operating the blind.
Disconnect system/automatic from power supply if necessary.
After operating a button switch, toggle switch or a control, a maintenance-free motor
undertakes the lifting and lowering of the blind and adjusting of the slats.
Automatic control equipment is recommended for Venetian blinds with electric motors, this
gives you increased protection and comfort (e.g. wind or sun monitor).
When lifting and lowering the blind several times, the temperature protection switch might
switch on and further operation of your Venetian blind is prevented due to safety reasons. Wait
a few minutes, until the system has cooled down and the switch releases the operation again.
Special conditions
For applications with special conditions concerning use or place, (e.g. nurseries, facilities for
disabled people) the buyer and the manufacturer need to come to an arrangement.
