Warnings and Cautions
All warnings and cautions herein must be observed for the safety of the operator and others in potentially
hazardous locations:
•
This terminal must be used only when the ambient temperature is between -20
°
C and +40
°
C (-4
°
F and
+104
°
F).
•
Batteries must NOT be changed or charged in hazardous locations.
•
This terminal must not be connected to any other device while in hazardous locations.
•
This terminal is intrinsically safe as long as it has not been abused or damaged.
Charging the Battery Pack
•
You must use the Trakker Antares TZ2400 or Z2400 Battery Charger to recharge your battery pack.
•
You must fully charge your battery pack prior to using it in your terminal.
•
Usually a battery pack is fully charged in less than three hours.
•
Remove the battery pack from the charger within 24 hours after charging is complete.
•
Battery packs can be charged after partial discharge without affecting the original battery capacity.
Note:
Although the Intermec battery pack looks similar to commercially available video camera
battery packs, it
will not
fit in other battery chargers.
Caution
Use only an Intermec TZ2400 (Part Number TZ2400A) or Z2400 (Part Number Z2400A)
Battery Charger to recharge the Intermec battery pack (Part Number 068868). Recharging this
battery pack with any other charger voids the intrinsically safe rating of the terminal.
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack
Replace the main battery pack with Intermec Part Number 068868 only. Use of any other battery packs may
present a risk of fire or explosion. Contact your local Intermec sales representative for replacement batteries.
To install the battery pack
1. Open the battery door by pushing down on the battery door latch and sliding it toward the bottom end of
the terminal. Lift up the top edge of the battery door to remove it.
2. Hold the battery pack with the flat side facing down toward the inside of the battery compartment. The
small arrow on the top of the battery pack must point toward the top end of the terminal (the end with the
display).
3. Place the battery pack into the battery compartment.
4. Hook the slots on the bottom of the battery pack into the slots on the bottom of the battery compartment.
5. Slide the battery pack toward the top end of the terminal until it fits and locks into place. The battery pack
must be all of the way forward for the battery door to close.
