Using the Smart Card Reader
You can use the smart card reader to read cards embedded with a
smart card chip. Before you can use the smart card reader, you need to
create a custom application that uses Microsoft APIs (application
programming interface) to provide low-level interface calls to the
reader.
The PW50 smart card reader supports these Microsoft APIs:

SCardEstablishContext
•
SCardLists
•
SCardConnect
•
SCardTransmit
•
SCardDisconnect
•
SCardReleaseContext
To use the smart card reader

Insert a CN3, CN4, or CK61 mobile computer in the PW50.

On your mobile computer, start an application that can read
smart card information.

Orient the smart card with the chip facing the printer.

Insert the card into the smart card reader.
