Next, create a wireless network to which local Wi‐Fi clients can connect to. The example shows the 
creation of a WPA2 encrypted network. 
 

 

 

 

 

Parameter 

Description 

ESSID 

Type in the name of the new wireless network. This does not need to match 
the ESSID of the wireless network, of which you want to extend the range. 

Mode 

Set to Access Point 

Network 

Uncheck any existing options such as “lan” or “wwan”, and check the option 
“create”. Then type in a descriptive name for the new network interface.   

Hide ESSID 

If you don’t want the Intellinet access point to broadcast the ESSID to nearby 
wireless clients, you can enable this option. 

WMM Mode 

Wireless  Multimedia  Extensions  (WME),  also  known  as  Wi‐Fi  Multimedia 
(WMM),  is  a  Wi‐Fi  Alliance  interoperability  certification,  based  on  the  IEEE 
802.11e  standard.  It  provides  basic  Quality  of  service  (QoS)  features  to  IEEE 
802.11 networks. Recommendation is to enable this.
