WMM
Wireless
Multimedia
Extensions
(WME),
also
known
as
Wi
‐
Fi
Multimedia
(WMM),
is
a
Wi
‐
Fi
Alliance
interoperability
certification,
based
on
the
IEEE
802.11e
standard.
It
provides
basic
Quality
of
service
(QoS)
features
for
wireless
IEEE
802.11
networks.
WMM
prioritizes
traffic
according
to
four
access
categories
(AC
for
short):
1.
Voice
2.
Video
3.
Best
effort
4.
Background.
It
is
suitable
for
well
‐
defined
applications
that
require
QoS,
such
as
Voice
over
IP
(VoIP)
on
Wi
‐
Fi
phones
(VoWLAN).
However,
it
does
not
provide
guaranteed
throughput.
As
for
the
Intellinet
CPE
Access
Point,
WMM
can
be
disabled
or
enabled
for
each
of
the
four
SSIDs
independently.
WMM
should
be
enabled
for
all
SSIDs
to
ensure
the
highest
possible
link
speed
of
150
Mbps.
There
is
really
no
reason
to
disable,
unless
you
are
experiencing
technical
difficulties
and
want
to
disable
WMM
as
part
of
the
troubleshooting.
