Intel® Portable Cache Module only: Insert the screw included with the Intel®
Portable Cache Module from the back of the Intel
®
RAID Controller SRCU42E into
the bracket on the Intel® Portable Cache Module.

3) Power Down the System
Turn off the computer and remove the AC power cord. Remove the system’s cover. See
your system documentation for instructions.
4) Check the Jumpers
Ensure that the jumper settings on the your RAID Controller SRCU42E are correct. See
Chapter 3, “Intel
®
RAID Controller SRCU42E Technical Reference,” for diagrams of the
RAID Controller SRCU42Es with their jumpers and connectors.
5) Install the Intel
®
RAID Controller SRCU42E
Select a x8 PCI Express slot, and align the RAID Controller SRCU42E PCI bus
connector to the slot. Press down gently but firmly to ensure that the card is properly
seated in the slot, as shown in Figure 2.2. Then screw the bracket into the computer
chassis.
