3.5.2 Replacing the Midplane Assembly
To replace the midplane:
1. Orient the cage so the side with the removed card guides is up.
2. Position the cage in the system so the four guide pins on the outer sides of the cage align with
the four guide notches in the enclosure. See Figure 21 .
3. Slide the cage into the system until the midplane connectors engage.
4. Replace the four midplane assembly retention screws on the front of the enclosure (see
Figure 20, “Midplane Assembly Retention Screw Locations” on page 44 ).
5. Replace the two upper center card guides.
6. Replace the Fan Trays (see “Installing a Fan Tray” on page 43 ).
7. Replace the filter (see Section 5.2, “Intake Grill with Air Filter” on page 58 ).
8. Replace all boards in the front and rear slots (see “Installing the CMM” on page 34 and
“Removal and Installation of Boards” on page 36 ).
9. Reconnect the system to power and turn it on (see Section 2.3.3.1, “Connecting AC Power (P1
Option)” on page 25 ).
