Using the HDMI interface

HDMI (High-definition Digital Multimedia Interface) supports EDID
and DDC2B, and lets the player integrate with video equipment
seemlessly, automatically selecting the best video and audio formats
available.
HDMI supports all ATSC HDTV standards and provides the highest
picture quality available. HDMI only requires one cable and uses a
high speed digital signal (5 Gbps) to transfer unzipped,
high-resolution, and multi-channel audio data. HDMI supports DVD
Audio and other advanced digital audio formats, as well as 8-channel
96 kHz digital audio transmission. HDMI works with HDCP
(High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), to prevent copyrighted
material from being copied without authorization.
