The analog clock hands
do not move when
power is applied.
Verify that the network port is capable of supplying PoE power.
Reboot the clock by disconnecting the data cable, counting to five, and
reconnecting the cable. It takes as long as 20 seconds for the hands to
begin moving.
The analog clock hands
are stuck at 9:45:00.
The clock has failed to receive an IP address from the DHCP server.
Contact your IT group responsible for DHCP service.
Note: The clock is reachable through its fixed link-local address for
diagnostic or re-configuration purposes between DHCP retries. The
link-local address is 169.254.0.100.
The analog clock hands
are stuck at 3:15:00.
The Time Server is either not properly specified or is unreachable.
Determine the IP
address of an Analog
Clock.
The analog clock has no IP Address display on startup so the IP
Address will generally be unknown. The recommended method to
recover a static IP Address is to sign into the clock management
system at
Inova OnTime Support
because the IP Address will be
shown there if the management system is in use. For DHCP addressed
clocks you should use the clock’s hostname instead of the IP Address.
Alternately, clear the configuration by returning it to factory default.
Clear the configuration
of an Analog Clock.
Return the clock to factory default by inserting a straightened
paperclip into the small hole on the centerline of the rear of the
powered clock and holding the small recessed pushbutton down until
the hands begin to find their home position (at least 15 seconds). The
clock must be powered on for the reset to work. The IP Address can
be then served by a DHCP server or the link-local address can be used
in a lab setting.
The clock is ticking and
shows incorrect time.
If the minutes past the hour are correct, verify the Time Zone and
Daylight Saving Time settings.
The DST transition
does not occur
immediately.
Analog clocks may require some amount of time to make the
automatic adjustment to DST. The clock may continue ticking up to 3
minutes past the DST transition time before the hands begin fast
stepping to the new time. It may take as long as 10 minutes for the
hands to complete the transition to the new local time.
