Pulling together wide modules on a roof curb or structural steel
It may happen, that whilst pulling a considerably wide module on a roof curb or struc-
tural steel, the mid-section for the module falls behind a little (drags behind). Not much, how-
ever enough to have a gap between the mating modules in the middle of the unit.
Generously greasing the surface of the roof curb or structural steel will greatly help re-
duce the friction between the unit and the roof curb (or structural steel).
If greasing is not sufficient to close the gap, perhaps due to the weight of the unit, a
jack coupled with a block of wood can be used to push the mid-section of the module whilst
SIMULTANEOUSLY pulling the sides of the modules together. Apply the jack to only the perime-
ter base of the module. This will help distribute the load across the side pulling mechanism
(come-along) and the jack. Anchoring of the jack will depend on site conditions and should be
done with proper support. This method is to be used if absolutely necessary and with care.
