What is Included
Product Overview
The L Ω GIC Cove S is an LED fixture designed to fit compact cove applications. It is a safe, low-voltage product that
supports full RGBW color mixing. Each L Ω GIC Cove S comes with a diffuser and plastic mounting brackets.
DC Power
This product is powered by the L Ω GIC Drive 2X with a CAT6 connection of 52 VDC. Download the User Manual for the
L Ω GIC Drive 2X from www.iluminarc.com for more details.
Power Linking
It is possible to link up to 8 L Ω GIC Cove S products from one output of the L Ω GIC Drive 2X.
Signal Linking
The L Ω GIC Cove S will receive a control signal (DMX, RDM, Art-Net™, or sACN) from the L Ω GIC Drive 2X via a CAT6
connection.
Connection and Cabling
The L Ω GIC Cove S uses standard CAT6 cable (not crossover cabling) and IEEE 802.3bt POE power standard.
Short cables may use a smaller gauge, but any cable longer than 50 ft (15 m) must be 23 AWG and shielded, or the
products may not receive enough power.
Cable requirements: Max/min gauge of 23/28 AWG CAT6 four twisted pair.
• For distances less than 50 ft (15 m): 23–28 AWG (shielded or unshielded)
• For distances from 50–328 ft (15–100 m): 23 AWG (shielded)

It is not recommended to use the L Ω GIC Cove S without the included diffuser.
An example of a short cable with smaller cable diameter that has been proven to work effectively with
the L Ω GIC Cove S is the Monoprice Slimrun CAT6 Ethernet patch cables, stranded 550 MHz, UTP, pure
bare copper wire, 28 AWG.
