 | Operating Instructions

GB-3

•  Do not use a power tool with a damaged switch.

A power tool that cannot be switched on or off

any more is dangerous and must be repaired.

•  Pull the mains plug and/or remove the battery

before adjusting a tool, changing accessories

or putting the tool aside. This precaution

avoids the unintentional start of the tool.

•  Store power tools that are currently not used

out of the reach of children. Do not allow per-

sons to use the tool if they are not familiar with

the tool or these instructions. Power tools are

dangerous if used by inexperienced persons.

•  Thoroughly maintain your power tool. Check

whether moving parts are working properly

and are not jamming/sticking, and whether

parts are broken or otherwise damaged in a

way that may affect the function of the power

tool. Have damaged parts repaired before us-

ing the tool. Many accidents are the result of

poorly maintained power tools.

•  Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Thorough-

ly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting

edges are jamming less often and are easier

to guide.

•  Use power tools, accessories, add-on tools,

etc. in accordance with these instructions and

in the way prescribed for the respective type

of tool. You should also consider the working

conditions and the work to be carried out. The

use of power tools for purposes other than

those intended for the respective tool may

result in dangerous situations.

1.5 Service

•

Have the power tool serviced by qualified tech

-

nical personnel only; repairs should be carried

out using exclusively original spare parts. This

will ensure the continued safe operation of the

power tool.

2. Safety Instructions for the Garden Shred-

der

•  Wear protective gloves, glasses, and ear pro-

tection. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing.

•  Always position the unit so as to be secure and

balanced. Do not lean on the unit.

•  The machine must be located on an even, sta-

ble surface during operation.

•  Before using, ensure that all screws and nuts

are tightly fastened.

•  Only use in dry conditions and never during

rainy weather.

•  Do not use the machine with damaged pro-

tective equipment or without protective equip-

ment.

•  Keep hands, other body parts and clothing well

away from the feeding funnel and the ejection shaft.

•  • Never place your face or other body parts in

the proximity of the feeding funnel.

•  Do not leave the machine unattended. Shut off

the motor and unplug the unit.

•  Do no feed any hard objects into the funnel

such as stones, bottles, cans or pieces of met-

al. This could damage the machine.

•  If the machine becomes blocked: shut off the

motor, unplug the unit, remove all objects from

the machine and check it for damages.

•  If the fuse has blown or the overload protec-

tion has been triggered, this means that the

machine was overloaded and/or that too many

devices are connected to the same extension

lead. Look for the cause and fix the problem.

Do not install a stronger fuse.

•  Do not pull on the extension lead. Do not make

the lead too tight. This could damage the plug

or the cable insulation. This type of damage

may not be visible, but can be dangerous.

•  Always keep the extension lead away from the

machine. Remove the plug from the socket

and check the cable regularly for signs of dam-

age or aging. Do not use the machine with a

damaged extension lead.

•  If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by

a specialist in order to prevent accidents.

•  Never move the machine by pulling the cable.

Do not move the machine while the motor is

running.

•

Before using the shredder for the first time it

must be assembled properly.

•  Only use extension leads which are suitable

for the outdoors.

•  Before using the unit ensure that there is no

damage to/problems with the cable.

•  Always shut down the shredder before unplug-

ging the cable and/or extension lead.

• Keep children and animals away from the

shredder. All others must keep a safe distance

from the shredder when it is operating.

• Children or individuals who have not read

these instructions or who are not familiar with

the shredder may not use the device.

•  The user of the device is responsible for third-

parties during operation.

•   The shredder may only be used for its intended

purpose.
