Maintenance and cleaning
The device is maintenance-free� It is only subject to the natural wear and tear of components and
their statistical failure rate�

› Wear protective gloves during cleaning the devices�
› Electrical devices may not be placed in the cleansing agent for the purpose of cleaning�
› Do not allow moisture to get into the device when cleaning�
› Before using another than the recommended method for cleaning or decontamination, the
user must ascertain with that this method does not destroy the device�

If you require servicing, return the device in its original packaging� Storage packaging is not
sufficient� Please also use suitable transport packaging�

In an emergency, you can open the protective cover as described below:
› Disconnect the device from the power source�
› Make sure the rotor has come to a standstill�
› Lift the device and open the protective cover by turning the mechanical latch in counterclock-
wise with a suitable tool (e�g� a slotted screwdriver)�

When lifting up the device, particularly after a device failure, please note that the motor on the
underside of the device can become very hot� Touch the device at the edges only!
Please also take care of the samples inside the rotor� The samples may spill out while lifting the
device�
