BRAKE MAINTENANCE FOR TEKTRO
AURIGA HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKE
A video tips can be seen at: https://youtu.be/z2Uqi80Y67Y
If you pull the brake lever and the pads don’t stop your bike, you probably
have air in your brake line. Unless you have bled brakes before we
strongly suggest this be done by a professional bike mechanic.
ALIGNMENT OF THE CALIPER
• Using a 5mm allen key loosen 5mm brake caliper
mounting bolts but do not remove (figure 25.1).
• Squeeze brake lever associated to the brake
you are adjusting and hold tight.
• Re Tighten the 2 bolts one at a time in 3 steps increments.
Tighten 1/3 then tighten the next bolt 1/3 and return
to original bolt alternating until both are tight.
• Look into the gap between the brake pads and rotor.
Rotor should be in center between pads.
• If rotor is too close to one side simply loosen only one caliper
mounting bolt and slightly push on caliper until rotor is in center.
• Spin rim again and if rotor is still in need of center alignment
loosen opposite caliper mounting bolt and repeat step 5.
• Repeat until centered.
• If you are having difficulty aligning we suggest the
use of a disc brake pad & rotor alignment tool.
