Barcode Scanning Recommendations
IMPORTANT
When scanning barcodes, it is important to keep the following
recommendations in mind:
Present one single document at a time.
Place the barcode face down on and in the center of the scanner
window.
Place the document horizontally on the scanner window without
moving it.
If thin paper documents, printed on both sides, need to be
scanned, strong ambient light might enhance paper translucency
and interfere with correct barcode scanning.
Therefore, IER recommends the use of document media not printed
on the back side or at least with a blank zone on the back of the
barcode area.
