3.6 SO-DIMM Installation
The PPC-F12B/15B/17B/19B-BTi series has two DDR3 SO-DIMM slots. All models are
preinstalled with a 2 GB DDR3L SO-DIMM in one of the slots. To add an additional
SO-DIMM, please follow the steps below.
CAUTION:
For dual channel configuration, always install two identical memory
modules that feature the same capacity, timings, voltage, number of
ranks and the same brand.
Step 1: Remove the back cover . See Section 3.5 .
Step 2: Locate the SO-DIMM socket . See Figure 3-2 .

Step 3: Install the SO-DIMM heatspreader on a SO-DIMM . Attach the thermal pad
onto the heatspreader and insert a SO-DIMM into the heatspreader.
