4.3 Socket LGA1151 CPU Installation
WARNING:
CPUs are expensive and sensitive components. When installing the
CPU please be careful not to damage it in anyway. Make sure the CPU
is installed properly and ensure the correct cooling kit is properly
installed.
DO NOT touch the pins at the bottom of the CPU. When handling the
CPU, only hold it on the sides.
To install the CPU, follow the steps below.
Step 1:
Disengage the load lever
by pressing the lever down and slightly outward to
clear the retention tab. Fully open the lever. See
Figure 4-1: Disengage the CPU Socket Load Lever
Step 2:
Open the socket and remove the protective cover.
The black protective
cover can be removed by pulling up on the tab labeled "Remove". See
