Four jumpers (JP5, JP6, JP7 and JP8) configure pin 9 on COM1, COM4, COM5 and

COM6 DB-9 connectors. Pin 9 on the COM1 and the COM5 DB-9 connectors can be set

as 5 V or +12 V. Pin 9 on the COM4 and COM6 DB-9 connectors can be set as

12 V or as the ring (RI) signal. The COM1, COM4, COM5 and COM6 Pin 9 Setting

jumper selection options are shown in

Table 4-4
