X1 Satellite Router
Physical and Environmental Considerations
2.3 Physical and Environmental Considerations
To protect the equipment and to avoid personal injury, observe the physical and
environmental considerations below when installing a X1
Router:
•
Ventilation
A single core protective vent on the back of the chassis provides pressure equalization and
ensures reliable operation of the product. To protect the chassis from overheating do not
place this product in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or enclosed rack, unless
proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer instructions have been followed.
•
Power Sources
Operate this product only from the type of power source indicated on the bottom of
approved power supplies. If the type of power supply is unknown, consult the teleport
operator or local power company.
•
Power Cord Protection
Route power supply cords so they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items
placed upon or against them; pay particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and at the point where they exit the product.
•
Overloading
Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this
can result in a risk of fire or electrical shock.
•
Electrical Safety
For electrical safety, power line operated equipment accessories connected to this unit
should bear the UL, NRTL, CE listing mark and should not be modified so as to defeat the
safety features. This helps to avoid any potential hazard from electrical shock or fire. If in
doubt, contact qualified service personnel.
•
Heat
Do not place the X1
Router near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or
other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
•
Accessories
To avoid personal injury or damage to the X1
Router, do not place the chassis on any
unstable rack, cart, stand, table, or bracket. Any mounting of the product should follow
the manufacturer’s instructions.
•
Attachments
Do not use attachments unless recommended by the manufacturer as they may cause
hazards or damage to equipment.
•
Restricted Access
This unit is intended for installation in restricted access areas. A restricted access area is
where access can only be gained by service personnel through the use of a special tool,
lock and key or other means of security, and is controlled by the authority responsible for
the location.
