2.3
Duty of care
The product Alco Power Fighter Manual Monitors was designed and constructed according to
the state of the art. The health and safety requirements have been met.
However the appropriate degree of safety can only be achieved in operational practice if all the
requisite measures are taken. The operator of the procuct must plan these measures and mon-
itor their execution.
The operator must ensure that
•
a copy of this manual and all other applicable documents is always available in its entirety
and in a readable condition at the site where the procuct is operated. It must be ensured that
all persons performing work on the procuct can consult the manual at all times
•
the procuct is transported, operated, maintained and repaired solely by staff with special
training and appropriate authorization
•
these staff members are familiar with the manual and particularly with the safety advice con-
tained within it
•
these staff members' responsibilities with regard to maintenance are clearly laid down and
adhered to
•
these staff members receive regular training and instruction on all pertinent issues relating
to occupational safety and environmental protection
•
all the procuct affixed danger signs are not removed and remain legible
•
operating instructions relating to occupational safety and accident prevention are issued
•
general, statutory and otherwise binding regulations for the prevention of accidents and the
protection of the environment are adhered to
•
national accident prevention regulations and internal company regulations are adhered to
•
personal protective clothing is available where needed
The following safety advice must be followed for all operations or activities involving the procuct.
Disregarding this can cause severe injury or death.
All persons working on and with the procuct must
•
read and understand the manual
•
pay attention to the safety information and notices in the manual and the instructions con-
tained within it
•
pay attention to the danger signs affixed to the procuct and the instructions contained in
them
•
take care to ensure that no unauthorized persons linger by the procuct or in the area around
it
•
adhere to the operating instructions for occupational safety and the prevention of accidents
issued by the operator, in addition to the contents of this manual
•
inform the operator or supervisory staff in the event of malfunctions
•
notify their responsible supervisor without delay of any changes that have occurred to the
procuct that could have a negative impact on safety
