CALibRATiNG ThE CONTROL STiCkS
This function allows you to calibrate the operation of the transmitter control sticks. Over time, it’s possible that the
end points and/or the neutral positions of the control sticks may change slightly, affecting the control operation of
the quadcopter. If the calibration screen on the Autopilot Configuration program doesn’t show all Green when both
control sticks are centered, the control sticks should be calibrated. Calibrating the control sticks ensures precise
operation at all times.
PRIOR TO CALIBRATING THE CONTROL STICKS,
YOU MUST REMOVE THE PROPELLERS FROM THE QUADCOPTER!
Calibrating the control sticks without first removing the propellers can result in injury if the motors unexpectedly
turn ON. Reinstall the propellers only after you finish calibrating the control sticks.
Calibrating the Control Sticks:
1) With the quadcopter connected to your PC or laptop and the Autopilot Configuration program open, press the
Open USB button. A USB Connected dialog box will appear. Press OK to close it.
2) Select Mode 2 from the STICK LAYOUT drop-down menu, then press the Adjust Transmitter button.
3) Press the OK button on the calibration screen to begin the calibration process.
6) Move the control sticks and observe the indicators. When both control sticks are centered, the indicators should
be Green. Move the control sticks to their end points. The indicators should move to the end-points and turn Red
when at any point other than neutral. The throttle indicator may turn Yellow to indicate the low throttle position.
If all indicators are Red after performing the steps above, or if when both control sticks are centered, one or
more indicators are red, the calibration process has failed. In either case, repeat steps 3 through 7 to repeat
the calibration process.
7) Close the Autopilot Configuration program, unplug the USB cable and your LiPo battery, then turn the transmitter OFF.
Connecting Your Quadcopter:
Calibrating the control sticks requires the use of the Autopilot Configuration program. Please make sure you’ve
installed the Autopilot Configuration program onto your PC or laptop as described in the Installing the Autopilot
Configuration Program section on page 23.
1) Connect the quadcopter to your PC or laptop and open the Autopilot Configuration program as described in the
Autopilot Configuration Programming section on pages 23 through 26.
4) Circle both control sticks to their maximum deflection at the same time
until the Start to Calibrate screen disappears (about 5 seconds).
5) Center both control sticks. With both control sticks centered, the indicators
should all be Green.
