7.1.2 Signal Polarity Setting
7.1.2.1Encoder Input Signal
The polarity of the encoder A,B,C signal indicates the active level of the signal. The active
level of the encoder A, B and C signals has to be set via CoE:

"A" signal 0x80n0:01

"B" signal 0x80n0:02
-
"C" signal 0x80n0:03
n - represents the channel number (n= 0;1)
By changing the signal polarity of "A" and/or "B" the direction of counting may change.
For example:

By changing the signal "B" polarity which indicates the direction for the
pulse/direction counting mode (Figure 27) the counting direction will change.

By changing the polarity of signal "A" for the quadrant counting mode (Figure 30)
results in a change of counting direction.

Changing the signal polarity for the clockwise/counterclockwise mode will not
change the counting direction
