  ID-1 Owners Manual Addendum

DRIVER INSTALLATION

 1. During the software driver install procedure, the manual on p.21 shows a
“Finish” screen that should appear after the “Continue Anyway” option. In fact,
the initial screen with the “Auto” (Recommended) versus “Manual” (Advanced)
option appears.

2. The manual states on p.21 that after installation, the user should click Finish to
complete the task. The “Finish” option appeared, and automatically closed itself
after about 3 seconds, with no input from the user/installer.

APPLICATION SOFTWARE INSTALL

Page 31 of the manual shows a “Next” screen. This screen pops up for a few
seconds, and disappears, with no user interaction permitted.

PAGE 66, 67

When in digital data mode, the ID-1’s transmit is inhibited by default.

Here is the option key sequence to tell the ID-1 to never be in transmit inhibit:
Hold in the “TXinh” key and “BK” key simultaneously while powering the unit ON.
An asterisk (*) in the upper right hand corner of the ID-1’s display will indicate
that this maneuver was successful.

This maneuver will come in handy for the user who places the ID-1 at a remote
location and the power is interrupted. The ID-1 will automatically power up and
now resume sending date when the power is restored.

PAGE 68, 69

There are 3 repeater data settings: “RPS” (repeater simplex), “positive offset”,
and “negative offset”. Any time the ID-1 is communicating with any of the se 3
repeater data settings, the ID-1 must be communicating with a repeater. Also,
any time a repeater data setting is selected, the ID-1 responds to specific data
headers only sent by repeaters.

Thus, the ID-1 is not configured to operate with an offset using semi-duplex to
another radio in DD mode.

PAGE 102 CORRECTION

(First paragraph)

The break-in function allows a user to break into a

conversation, where 2 stations are using Call Sign Squelch. The breaking station
should enter the call sign of one of the stations they wish to communicate with.
When you call the desired station, only the selected station will hear the call. With
the break-in communication function enabled, both stations will be able to hear
the call.
