YAESU FT-8800 PROGRAMING

Push the lower right knob to turn the radio on or off.

Make sure “MAIN” is on the desired side of the display. To change sides, 
momentarily push the top right or top left dial ON THE SIDE YOU WANT 
TO BE “MAIN”.

Momentarily push the V/M button so no memory channel number appears in
the display, to the left and above the displayed frequency.

Use the microphone to key in the desired frequency.

If you are setting up for a repeater, the correct offset is probably displayed.  
If you need to correct the offset, momentarily push the “SET” button. The 
“SET” button is the unlabeled button in the center of all the labeled buttons. 
After momentarily pushing the “SET” button, a menu item is displayed. Go  
to menu item # 33, RPT-MOD.
Push the main dial (in this case the upper left dial, if you are working with  
the frequency on the left side). Rotate the main dial to the desired setting,  +,
-, OFF (simplex). Push the main dial to return to the menu screen.

If a tone is required, rotate the main dial to # 41, TONE M. Push the main 
dial and rotate to the type of tone desired, usually ENC. Push the main dial 
once to get back to the menu. 
Rotate the dial to # 40, TONE F. Push the main dial and rotate until the 
proper frequency is displayed.  Push the main dial to get to the menu again. 
Push and hold the SET button.
You will hear 2 beeps and the memory channel numbers flash. Rotate the 
main dial until the channel number appears where you want the information 
stored. Push the SET button and a long beep is heard and the display will 
show MEM-IN momentarily.

The memory is stored.

Pushing the V/M button will then show the information for the selected 
channel. Rotating the dial at this point the radio will go through the channels
you have in memory.
