CAUTION:
Transmttng wthout an antenna may dam-
age the transcever.

Rotate [VOL] to turn power ON.

Set the audo and squelch levels.

• “ LOW ” appears when low power s selected.
• Choose low power for short range communcatons, choose
hgh power for longer dstance communcatons.
• Some channels are for low power only.

Push and hold [PTT] to transmt, then speak nto the m-
crophone.
• “ ” appears.
• Channel 70 cannot be used for transmsson other than DSC.

Release [PTT] to receve.
IMPORTANT:
To maxmze the readablty of your trans-
mtted sgnal, pause a few sec. after pushng [PTT] , hold
the mcrophone 5 to 10 cm from your mouth and speak at
a normal voce level.

NOTE for TOT (Time-out Timer) function
The TOT functon nhbts contnuous transmsson over a
preset tme perod after the transmsson starts.
A beep sounds 10 sec. before the TOT functon actvates, to
ndcate the transmsson wll be shut down and “TOT” ap-
pears on the channel comment ndcator. Transmsson s not
possble for 10 sec. after ths transmsson shut down.
