Complete the following steps to install a power supply:
1. Review the information in “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on
page 5.
2. (Some models) Remove the power-supply blank from the empty power-supply
bay by pinching the side clip and pulling the power-supply blank from the bay.
Save the power-supply blank in case you remove the power supply at a later
time.
Attention:
During normal operation, each power-supply bay must have either
a power supply or power-supply blank installed for proper cooling.
3. Move the handle on the power supply into the open position and slide the power
supply into the chassis.
4. Gently close the handle to seat the power supply into the bay.
5. Plug the power cord for the new power supply in the power-cord connector on
the back of the server.
6. If you have other options to install or remove, do so now; otherwise, go to
“Completing the installation”.
Note: When you turn on the server, verify that the dc power LED and ac power
LED on the power supply are lit, indicating that the power supply is operating
correctly.
Completing the installation

See the documentation that comes with your rack cabinet for more
information.
