complete this process.

Attention:
Do not place a SAN768B-2 chassis directly on the floor. It cannot be
easily moved from the floor back onto a lift or pallet.
1.
Uninstall the chassis from the cabinet (see “Removing a SAN768B-2 from the
cabinet” on page 32 for detailed steps) and place it onto an extra lift or on the
shipping pallet originally provided with the chassis. Remove the mounting
brackets, and set the hardware aside for use with the new chassis.

Unpack the new chassis (see “Unpacking the SAN768B-2” on page 18.

Attach the brackets to the new chassis (see “Attaching the shelf brackets” on

Install the new chassis in the cabinet, using a lift tool to raise the chassis to the
correct level. See “Using the lift tool, the 24–inch load plate, and the bridge
tool” on page 22 for detailed steps.
Installing components into the new chassis
Install the components into the new SAN768B-2 chassis in the order listed below.
Refer to Chapter 5, “Removing and installing components,” on page 81 for more
specific installation information.
Attention:
Do not force the installation of any of the components. If the
component does not slide in easily, ensure that it is correctly aligned and
positioned before continuing.

Do not turn on the power until it is time to verify hardware operation.

Follow ESD precautions (“ESD precautions” on page xix).

Install the WWN cards and bezel in the new chassis as described in “Installing
the WWN cards and WWN bezel (logo plate)” on page 107.

Install the blower assemblies in the new chassis as described in “Removing
and installing a blower assembly” on page 103.
3.
Install the power supplies or filler panels in the new chassis as described in
“Installing a power supply” on page 103.
4.
Install the control processor (CP8) blades in the new chassis as described in
“Installing a control processor blade (CP8)” on page 92.

Replace the core switch blades (CR16-8) as described in “Installing a core
switch blade (CR16-8)” on page 100. If QSFP cables are not used, insert the
rubber plugs in the sockets in the QSFP transceivers.

Install the port, application blades, or filler panels in the new chassis as
described in “Installing a port or application blade” on page 86 or “Installing
a filler panel” on page 88.

Replace the cable management comb “Removing and installing a cable
