 1.2.1 Microprocessor

  

 The microprocessor interprets and carries out instructions.  The 80386SX

 microprocessor is a 32-bit processor with a 16-bit external data bus and a

 24-bit external address bus.  The microprocessor operates in two modes:

 real-address mode and virtual-address (protected) mode.  The

 microprocessor speed is selectable and its maximum speed is 16 MHz.
