IBM System x options for System i products
System i platform installations can use IBM System x options for System i
products. IBM Director Agent provides support for the operating system running
on these xSeries options.
System i platform installations can use the following System x options:
v
Integrated xSeries Server (IXS)
v
System x servers that are attached to the System i product using the Integrated
xSeries Adapter (IXA)
v
iSCSI-attached System x and BladeCenter products
Using these System x options, you can install IBM Director Agent and IBM
Director Core Services on the supported operating systems. Supported operating
systems are those that are supported by both IBM Director and the System x
option. For supported operating systems on IXS and IXA, see the System x option
product documentation. For IBM Director supported operating systems, see
“Operating systems supported by IBM Director.”
Note: Whether these operating systems are supported in your System i
environment depends on the following criteria:

The Integrated xSeries Server (IXS) installed in the System i platform
v
The System x server that is attached to the System i platform using the
Integrated xSeries Adapter (IXA)
v
The iSCSI-attached System x or BladeCenter hardware connected to the
System i platform
v
The release of i5/OS or OS/400
®
installed on the System i platform
