On RI/RO is wrapped due to beaconing
Cause Action
Cabling problem Make sure all cable connections are secure.
Go to “RI/RO Module” on page 3-2; check the
cabling.
Check the cabling for breaks or other damage.
Replace suspect cables with known good
cables. If you are using the Optical Fiber RI/RO
Module, note that bending the fiber beyond the
minimum bend radius can break the internal
fiber while the cable jacket remains
undamaged.
Make sure the cable length and specifications
comply with the requirements in “Cable Types
and Distances” on page 1-4.
Fault is on the remote device Resolve the problem at or off of the remote
device. The 8239 will automatically unwrap the
RI/RO connector that was wrapped once it
detects that the connection is good. You may
also use ENABLE RING_IO to unwrap the
RI/RO connector.
Off RI/RO is OK
Stack In/Stack Out Status
Three LEDs are associated with each Stack-In and Stack-Out connection. The
LEDs for each connection are physically located over that connection. The LEDs
provide information about the data path and the control path that make up a stack
connection. The Stack-In connection is made up of Data In and Control In; the
Stack-Out connection is made up of Data Out and Control Out.
