Installing a DVD drive

To install a DVD drive, compete the following steps:

1. Read the safety information that begins on page v and “Installation guidelines”

on page 28.

2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cord and

all external cables.

3. Remove the top cover.

4. Remove the filler panel from the DVD drive bay.

5. Slide the DVD drive into the server until it engages the interposer card or the

SATA cable.

If you have other devices to install or remove, do so now. Otherwise, go to
“Completing the installation” on page 55.

Installing an internal removable flash drive

The server supports one internal removable flash drive that is installed in a USB
connector on the I/O board. You do not have to turn off the server to install an
internal removable flash drive.

To install an internal removable flash drive, complete the following steps.
