this manual.
TAB. 2
MALFUNCTIONING
POSSIBLE CAUSE
REMEDY
1.
The motor is switched on but does
not turn and makes no noise
1.1 At least two wires are cut off
Check the fuses, terminal or power
supply cables.
2.
The motor is switched on but does
not turn and makes some buzzing
noise
2.1 At least one wire is cut off
2.2 The impeller is clogged
2.3 The impeller is defective
2.4 Ball bearing is defective
Check the wiring to the terminals of
the terminal box
Open the cover, remove foreign
objects and clean
Replace the impeller
Replace the ball bearing
3.
The motor protection device
activates just after start up
Absorbed current exceeds the
rated value stated on the motor
nameplate
3.1 Short cut in the motor winding
3.2 Motor overload
3.3 The compressor is clogged
Check and replace the motor
Reduce throttling. if necessary clean
filters, silencer and connection pipes
See point 2.2
4.
The machine does not deliver
differential
pressure
or
the
pressure is too low
4.1 Leak in system
4.2 Wrong sense of rotation
4.3 Wrong frequency
4.4 Shaft seal defective
4.5 Different density of gas
4.6 Change in blade profile due to dirt
Seal the leak.
Reverse direction of rotation by
interchanging two connecting leads.
Correct frequency
Replace shaft seal
Consider conversion of pressure
values. Inquire the Service Dept.
Clean the impeller, check wear and
replace if necessary
5.Unusual flow noise
5.1 Flow speed too high
5.2 Dirty silencer
Clean pipes. Use pipes with larger
cross-section, if necessary
Clean silencer insert and replace if
necessary.
6. Unusual operating noise
6.1 Ball bearing defective or without
grease
Re-grease the ball bearing and replace
if necessary
7.
Compressor leaks

Replace the gaskets
16. SHUT DOWN PERIOD
