4. Phonebook Function
The HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio can store 78 names and phone numbers.
Names with a maximum length of up to 16 characters and phone numbers with a maximum
length of up to 20
digits can be displayed.
Phonebook entries are arranged in 6 ‘Volumes’ containing 13 ‘Pages’. The preset buttons

are used to select each volume of pages. In this way, the preset buttons may be used as
category headers for ‘Family’, ‘Friends’, ‘Clubs’, Work’ etc.
The last incoming phone number may be quickly stored in the radio memory.
The contents of a mobile phone’s phone book or contacts list can be transferred in a bulk batch
or as single entries using Bluetooth.
A name and number may be created in the radio and stored as an entry.
4.1. Transferring Entries From a Mobile Phone to the Radio Phonebook
1) Press button

is displayed, all previously stored names and phone numbers are retained in memory
and new entries are stored in memory locations at the end of the previously stored entries.
During the transfer activity,
WAITING
appears on the display and remains on the display
until the new entries begin to transfer from the mobile phone.
5) Check your mobile phone instruction manual to understand how to transfer phone number
and name entries using Bluetooth. Begin transferring the phone number content from
you mobile phone to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio while
WAITING
is displayed. Once
entries begin to transfer from the mobile phone to the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio,

display. When the phonebook memory of the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio is full,

appears on the display and no more entries can be stored.
Notes When Transferring Entries:
a.
Some mobile phones may not be capable of transferring names and/or numbers to the
HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio.
b.
Some mobile phones may not be capable of transferring a complete phonebook, only a
single name and/or number at a time.
c.
During phonebook transfer, some mobile phones may disconnect from the HYUNDAI
Bluetooth radio.
d.
Some mobile phones may not transfer entries correctly due to incompatible or proprietary
entry formats.
e.
After transferring name and number entries, the first and second names of the entry may
be swapped when displayed on the HYUNDAI Bluetooth radio. Some mobile phones
have settings to select the order of first and last names.

The entire phonebook contents will be deleted if the ‘
OVERWRITE?
’ option is
chosen in step 4). Please refer section 4.5 for details regarding phonebook entry deletion.
