7.1
Remove all loose pieces of wood, stones, wire and other debris from the area before
beginning stump removal.
7.2
Wind direction should be considered, as it influences the direction in which dust and wood
chips are directed.
7.3
Dig away the earth and remove any stones near the tree stump that may interfere with your
work. Check that the ground is free of foreign objects, such as electrical cables, barbed wire,
etc.
7.4
Cut or trim the stump as low to ground as required using a power saw.
7.5
Never operate the stump grinder after dark. There will not be adequate lighting for the
operator to use the machine safely.
7.6
Always allow a cold engine time to warm up before use.
7.7
For best results, only the portion of cutting wheel within the 80-degree area shown below
should be in contact with the stump.
7.8
Never leave controls when the cutting wheel is rotating and stop the engine when machine is
left unattended.
